Every cell in your body is tuned to rhythm and sound since your conception.

If you feel the call to craft your drum deep in your bones it is not because it could be a powerful experience or because it could be the key to heal your trauma, but because something primal in you is yearning to come alive, to feel, to bloom.

This is not crafting a music instrument, you are birthing a powerful ally that will anchor and guide you in stepping into your gift, bringing forth medicine for yourself and/or for others.


What Is Medicine?

Medicine is what wants to come through you, a gift from the universe, uniquely yours. It is what brings balance. It is what strengthens you. It is what helps speak truth, releases grief, and stands steady in life. The drum becomes your souls heartbeat, something to lean into, something to move through you.


Walking the beauty way with all our relations

We are gathering here in the beautiful Kalang Valley on Gumbayinggirr land, with access to the Kalang River to immerse ourselves together with our hides. There is a gunya with a well-loved fire place waiting for you. Around the fire we share in intimate circle surrounded by abundant wildlife and forest, held lovingly by Mother Earth.

We will work with wooden frames, steam-bent from local trees by a good friend. The animal skins are at this stage either bought or sourced directly from the hunter and scraped and cleaned by my own loving hands. Kangaroo, Fallow Deer or Goat could be the animal that will lend its medicine to your drum.

Working with your whole body, you will pour a part of yourself into your drum as you sand and oil the frames; and as you are cutting and stretching the skin and laces. Your arms, fingers and your back will be imprinted in return with this process. This is honest and true women’s work.

There is no way but through - Surrendering into the process - There is no rushing a drum.

There is no need to be musical, a shaman or anything but ready to give this your best go

If you come, come ready to work, to feel fully, to be fully human and be ready to step out of your own way.

Whenever you play your drum, it will remember your prayers and intentions, it will remember your hands and your strength, your tears and laughter.

This 3-day Drum Birthing Journey honours the depth, strength and spaciousness of feminine flow

FACILITIES: BYO camping, welcoming outdoor shelter, composting toilet, private swimming hole

COST: Sliding scale $550–$700 (includes $200 deposit)

Included: All materials, wholesome food, sacred circle, ceremony, intuitive movement, and nature immersion.
